王仲平 WANG Chung-Ping

王仲平關注攝影作為影像媒介本身的複雜性,以及攝影如何在當代語境中面向繪畫的可能性。其創作經常從影像的生成條件出發,透過對成像結構、物質表面與時間性進行拆解與重構,試圖讓照片不再僅是指向可辨識的對象,而是反身性地顯露影像自身。作品多以低資訊、平面化與抽象化的視覺形式,將攝影的深度從再現空間中撤回至表面,使觀看重新回到光、物質、與時間的交織關係。

Focusing on the complexity of photography as a medium of image-making, the artist explores how photography might open toward the possibilities of painting within a contemporary context. His practice begins with the conditions of image production, dismantling and reconstructing imaging structures, material surfaces, and temporality, as an attempt to make photographs reflexively reveal the image itself, beyond merely pointing to recognizable subjects. Visual forms characterized by low information, flatness, and abstraction are employed to detach photography’s sense of depth from representational space back to the surface, redirecting viewing toward the interwoven relations of light, materiality, and time.
