邱子晏 CIOU Zih-Yan
邱子晏的創作橫跨影像、裝置、雕塑與空間計畫,長期關注個人記憶、地方歷史與集體經驗之間的交織關係。透過田野調查、口述訪談與檔案研究,作品經常回應臺灣在二十世紀所經歷的戰爭、殖民與現代化過程,並以「重建」、「偽造」或「再現」的方式,重新思考歷史如何被觀看與感知。藝術家擅長將具體的場域經驗轉化為具有敘事性的空間結構,結合聲音、影像與物件,使觀者在行走與停留之間,進入介於現實與想像、記憶與遺忘之間的狀態。其創作不僅是對歷史的回望,也試圖在當代脈絡中提出關於人、土地與時間的提問。
CIOU Zih-Yan explores the interwoven relationships between personal memory, local history, and collective experience through a practice based on moving image, installation, sculpture, and spatial projects. Through field research, oral history interviews, and archival investigation, his works often respond to wars, colonial histories, and processes of modernization that Taiwan experienced throughout the 20th century. By employing strategies such as “reconstruction,” “fabrication,” or “reenactment,” he reconsiders how history is viewed and perceived. He excels in transforming concrete site-based experiences into narrative spatial structures by integrating sound, image, and objects, inviting viewers, through movement and pause, to enter a state that lies between reality and imagination, memory and forgetting.
